SB Nation's own Jeremiah Oshan wrote up a great article this morning on the home site about MLS's attendance for 2011 and, damn, it's lookin' good! According to Jeremiah the league averaged 17,872 in total this year making it the best season ever on average. It also attracted a staggering 5,468,951 people to games. To put that in perspective in 2010 the total was 4,002,053 (with 66 fewer games). Still the outlook is very good for the league and I, for one, am hugely excited to be a part of this growth in some way.
