In other words “Hey, I can phone in today’s article with baseless rumors!”
Ain’t no chance that Spencer is giving up on Portland to come to the shithole coaching wasteland in Colorado. He’d get half the salary (at most!), a quarter of the fanbase size and 1/25th the transfer fee here, where’s the incentive? Because he played here once when the team was awful and then got kicked out by Kroenke after retiring?
2011 Colorado Avalanche - Not yet mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.
The 2011 Buffalo Bills - Not going 0-16 this year
Burgundy Wave - SBnation's home for the Colorado Rapids
Crystal Palace FC - Oh wait, we're winning games this year? That wasn't on the schedule until 2016!

This sums it up perfectly.
Say what you want about America, thirteen bucks still gets you a hell of a lot of mice!
Ouch... for you to say it, esp. like that, makes me think
I have made some great friends in the Rapids supporters groups, and have yet to get their opinions on this. But damn, if you’re unloading like that, either you’re still steamed about your playoff exit (which I wouldn’t blame you), or really fed up with shenanigans in your FO.
Either way, you sound like I do when I talk about the Blazers administration. Minus the lack of fanbase… Rip City is loyal to their Blazers. Just pure frustration with the owner and the crappy situation (2 GM’s canned in less than a year), along with the lock-out. Don’t get me started on that…
Blazers win!
I was expecting the playoff exit with all the injuries, really. It’s the FO’s idiocy that got to me.

Nicely debunked, UZ.
The headline should have read, “John Spencer probably considered a good enough coach to maybe attract offers from other teams, like, say, for example, just throwing out a name here, the Colorado Rapids”

Baseless comment and link bait from O Live, how shocking!
But I’ll bite.
Just when you thought it was safe to like GA and accept him as a decent beat reporter, he goes and writes something like this. Faux journalism GA! Too much of it these days. Are you paid to give insights into the team others don’t have or are you a salesman of “news”?
My faux outrage now over, let’s be real.
GA just fumbled the ball here. I think in his own silly way he’s trying to compliment Spencer and the FO. “Hey, we have a good coach. Others will be interested.” Well yeah, of course others will be. Happens all the time in sports. It doesn’t mean Spencer is thinking of leaving or that he will. Now that would be a story. This? GA just farted. Non-story, but fun comment bait anyway.
When I'm bored I read your self-love on Twitter. I love the First World.
I think the O's editorial staff is more the culprit than GCA

Timbers say no to Colorado Rapids’ request 2 talk 2 John Spencer about head coach position. #RCTID, #mls. #timbers
If true that there was a real request, the article is not baseless but rather trivial.
