1) Big changes coming to officiating system. #MLS has proposed using foreign referees, one source tells me.
2) #MLS ref Terry Vaughn dismissed from USSF full-time program. Performance based. Only Salazar, Toledo remain. Vaughn still in general pool

There isn't an article
It was just a tweet from Goff.
Great news, though. I look forward to hearing more about it.

Meant to put the tweets up as the link but posted his blog instead.

Can someone clarify the difference between full time and pool?
I was pumped to see Vaughn get dropped but I don’t know what that actually means. He’s probably top three worst in the league.

He now has to work for a living
Full time= They only Referee
Pool= Referees that may ref part time and have other full time jobs and are therefore assigned to games through USSF.
What I love is that “foreign” referees being brought in is being looked at. I can see Howard Webb to the MLS rumors now!

I thought some FIFA sanction limited us to US referees?
Or if not FIFA, USSF or some governing body. Good news for everyone except Houston.

All referees need to come from the USSF and CSA
But that does not preclude them from hiring people from overseas to work for the federation.

Yes
I am thinking it will most likely mean he will be on the line or the 4th official….

Was Vaughn the guy who gave Kalif the red card in NY?
I love Portland because everyone here takes things so seriously, sort of.
That was Alex Prus
I’m not sure which of our games involved Terry Vaughn…

This is not all of them
They only have about half of the games listed.
