Timbers Tid Bits: 2013 Kits Edition
So here's a hot topic for you guys: as I was preparing for today's TTB (which is going to be daily again from now on) I saw this little tweet from Merritt Paulson:
Finalized 2013 kits today-tough as I like current so much. Pleased still. Hopefully no leaks; if so,at least decent image unlike past leaks
So we now know that we will get a refreshed primary and secondary kit in 2013, but more than that we know that it's different enough that owner Merritt Paulson put special emphasis on his love of the current ones in his tweet meaning that there's a reasonable assumption we could see some fairly big changes.
What do you think? Any specific changes you'd make to the current kits? It's going to be tough waiting an entire year to see 'em.
Enjoy the day's news:

This particular point from the SAH piece cannot be overstated
The desire for big name Designated Players is more about emotion than it is about knowledge of how teams win in MLS.
Money does not directly correlate with wins. The mere existence of a DP on a roster does not mean that the team will win more than it did pre-DP. I’m glad to see that message starting to permeate.
Wow
The Bleacher Report had the worst photo essay about the Porland Timbers they could have imagined.

I know...
I really hate linking to them but I’m trying to be less of a content snob and push my own editorial censoring on others.

I don’t think you need to worry about being labeled a content snob unless they post something that resembles content.

But the Bleacher Report is horribly awful and does not deserve traffic
Back when I had a blog, they emailed me and said “do you want to write for BR?” I said sure, why not. The next day they started posting stuff I put on my blog as BR content, and allowed their community to edit it. This happened until I wrote them and basically threatened to take them to court unless they knocked it off.
That, plus their content is completely horrible.
WOW
Did you read the information with the Bleacher report? Nagbe apparently scored from 90 yards out and it was away to SKC. News to me cause I swear I was in the Press Box…..

Wow!
No I didn’t as I can’t stand BR… they’re just terrible. I think I’m going to remove the article though. Content snobbery be damned!

I still maintain that MLS can become the destination for most of the Americas. Argentina can’t pay wages, but Brazil and Mexico are looking good and the top leagues in the New World. All others I can’t vouch for, but MLS is ascending.
