NBC in Dallas? Hope there is a crowd.
Good match-up for us.

But its NY!
/sarcasm
They at least get two stars in Henry and Shea. Starts the NBCSN off with some decent teams. and sometimes Dallas can pull the occasional 20,000 crowd
Jag kom, jag såg, erövrade jag.
Unless Shea is playing somewhere else by then...
By the way, this is awesome.

Three years as first kick was enough.
Don’t they know there is more to the league than them?
Impact-Whitecaps and Timbers-Union are going to be smashingly good matches.
Jag kom, jag såg, erövrade jag.
One playoff team among the 4 equals good soccer?
The most recent trophy won by the opening day matchups were by the Timbers regular season D2 and the Impact in the NCC?
Punctuation was used with purpose. The matches aren’t great and they lack the Sounders. It isn’t that they aren’t great because they lack the Sounders

Not to be nitpicky
Especially with my own well documented grammar issues, but are you sure that a comma was the right choice there? I got what you meant after reading the thread, but I thought the exact same thing when I read the headline.
Oklahoma State will beat LSU in the National Title game by more than 7 points.
I did not want first kick
last year because it meant no Arlo. This year I want as many national NBC games for the sounders because he is the NBC announcer.
Selfish for personal reasons
but not reasons that will make me disagree.
Jag kom, jag såg, erövrade jag.
Ya know, I still thank my lucky stars we even have a TEAM!
It looked really close to insolvency if we stayed D2.
Jag kom, jag såg, erövrade jag.
I know
If we didn’t move up to the MLS we would be in PDL 2….. or something like that.

It was MLS or bust
Really like the match-up. Timbers/Philly games were good this year. Monday night sounds like fun. Should be a good advert for the league. Can’t wait!

Sounders fans are going to go nuts on the MLS site
When is the full schedule released? I’m going to plan a couple away trips.
volatilelyle.com
Same here
Since I don’t have season tickets, I plan to hit the road next year with the TA more and lend my voice to the away support. I’ll still go to a couple of home games obviously but going to the road games with the Army’s a pretty special experience.
Sounder at Heart immediately wrote complaint
Despite having First Kick last year and it being very likely they’ll get plenty of national TV games this year. Thought of “trolling for the good of the league”, but decided Timbers third kit more important.

Didn't they complain about being on first kick last year?

Not you, necessarily, but I do recall rather a bit of complaining...
Mostly after the game. About being matched up against LA. And about losing again during first kick.

IIRC, it was the Galaxy/Red Bulls in short order
Granted, that’s part of the point of First Kick, to put some of the big teams out and get them exposure.

Obviously that's not the case this year

Let me clarify
I meant everyone else except those at SaH.

Yep
I believe it was something like having Sounders and Galaxy on national TV as much as possible is better for MLS. In other words, let’s turn it into a two team league.

The fact that the Supporters Shield and MLS Cup holders
aren’t on national tv to start the season is a mistake. Nor Seattle, nor Real Salt Lake. The three teams with the best records over the last three years aren’t on TV. The 4th team (the Crew) aren’t on TV.

Yeah
I think this has something to do with it. Van-Montreal will be great, but Montreal Toronto made a tad more sense for a kickoff game. Toronto is in CCL though. MLS has a record of being accommodating to teams that pursue CCL, and this probably has something to do with the fact that MLS doesn’t want a bunch of showcase games that feature subs, or that cost teams the opportunity to field their best side in CCL.

I think
Sounders and galaxy both make for good TV. But I am equally happy seeing Portland there too. All three make good TV.

A little meh, but the game should be good.

That hash tag was hilarious last night
But at the end of the day it sucked, because the Free Dental and Free College you get for starting a Twitter trend Lacks Sounders.

I Laughed so hard last night
I told my wife about the hash tag and she just looked at me and rolled her eyes…

My wife does the same thing
I showed it to her and had to explain what a hashtag is. We had a similar conversation last week when I pasted trollface on her Facebook page, and had to then explain what an internet meme was after she asked why I posted the weird face.
