Guide to the Internet for a Portland Timbers Supporter

New to the Timbers?  Or, forgetting what shows and websites to visit and when to visit them?  I think one of the hardest things about immersing yourself in a new sport is finding out where to get good coverage.  Here is a comprehensive (hopefully) guide to following the Portland Timbers and MLS across the internet.  Hopefully, people can use this to get their fix leading up to and during the season.

The first half is a list of podcasts and videocasts, the second half is a list of websites to check in on for related articles.  I didn't include any forums (should I have?).  And I'm sure I missed a lot, so let me know what I missed and I will edit the post to include your suggestion.  Oh, and if this guide already exists somewhere on the internet, don't break my heart (just kidding, provide the link).

Spoken Word:

The Daily: Monday through Friday morning, a ~3 minute video podcast from mlssoccer.com.

Hosted by a group of mlssoccer.com reporters; covers recent news around MLS and US soccer.  Short and sweet, and goes great with your coffee.

mao's football show: Live every Tuesday from 4:00 - 5:00 pm PST.

First and foremost we chat about the happenings of the Portland Timbers Football Club. We also delve into the international scene, as well as Major League Soccer and northwest football culture. From time to time we discuss the “beautiful game” with in studio guests, guests from other cities, and even the odd international pundit. -Mao's Football Show

Shed Culture with Hermes: Live every Thursday from 4:00 - 5:00 pm PST.

Focuses on the Timbers Army – the supporters group for the Portland Timbers.  Hosted by an old school front row capo, Hermes. If you want to be Timbers Army you already are. If you want to hear the legends and mythologies of the Timbers Army that we can repeat on the air, listen in.  If you want analysis of the beautiful game, you won’t find it here.  Other shows face the pitch, we face the stands. Spread the Love and Take the Piss. - Hermes

Talk Timbers: Thursdays or Fridays at 6:00 pm.

John Strong hosts his Portland Timbers radio show for 2 hours every week.  Times will change during the season according to Timbers and Blazers schedules.

Unnamed Timbers Podcast: Not sure about the schedule on this one.  Someone chime in with some info.

"So we've decided to premiere a new podcast to discuss soccer from a supporter's standpoint. We're so underground we don't even have a name yet. Give it a listen, then email us at podcast@timbersarmy.org and tell us how stupid we are. We're looking for stories, suggestions, feedback and a name." - Daaaaave

Extra Time Radio: Twice a week on MLSsoccer.com, iTunes and BuzzSprout.com.

Roughly an hour long, hosted by the same guys who bring you The Daily.  Touches on MLS and US soccer, but the best part about this show is that they usually have a couple of really quality interviews per show.

Written Word:

Portland Timbers: Official website of the Portland Timbers.
