Interesting
And interesting timing. Why not Seattle or LA?
Getting into my seat hasn’t been an issue since opening night. Getting out is always a little slow, but I don’t really mind—especially after a win.
It will also be noteworthy how quickly/easily we sell the seats.

Why not Seattle or LA?
National media attention, that’s why. If they open those seats for a big game like that without a trial run, and it doesn’t work and the concourses are a massive clusterf*ck (which they may well be – they’re close now), all people would say about the game was how awful the stadium experience was. Try it in a game when there’s no national TV there and see if it works, and if so, open it up next season.
Also
I think by adding the seats on the south side and the east side, away from the already cramped concourses, They have a more open area to accommodate the 2000 extra fans.

That's a reasonable answer.

20,000 is the target...
The number looks nice… My guess
Vancouver?
I would think Vancouver and maybe Houston???

Vancouver is on Saturday.
Don’t you think they would have announced something by now if it were for Vancouver?

One question:
Where are these extra available seats on the east end? As far as I can tell there’s no available permanent seats there. Are they putting up makeshift seating or something? Same question with the south deck too.
There is lots of room to extend the bleachers on the SE
at the cost of obscuring the view of the eating areas back there.
But yes, I wonder what they’ll do on the other side. There does seem to be some space here and there. Hopefully those 1500 will just exit out the East gates there and there won’t be much impact at all.

Is he actually talking about the north end TA section?
That’s where the tarps are. Personally I was hoping for them to roll the tarps up a bit but not add new bodies to relieve pressure in the area. I don’t quite see where they’ll get that many seats out of the south deck and east side though. I guess we’ll have to wait and see but I am curious.
The character restriction on Twitter can turn an unambiguous thought into a very ambiguous tweet.
Are they actually increasing capacity, or only performing a test in preparation for doing so?
“©oncourse load impact” makes it sound like they are only testing the bathrooms. True or false?
Are they expanding “seats” or just “tickets”?
Who is trying to kill robots?
How do they plan on adding south deck and east side seats?
More tweets
@spalding 9/16 (NE) & 10/14 (H-Town). more offical info coming but will equate to over 1,600 new seats/game. tarps half up. #rctid
@maofootball to be clear: 9/16 & 10/14 are just a TEST for N End and West Side impact of less tarp seats. 2012 decisions based on results.
@andyyax 9/16 is on sale now. 10/14 is sold out
@jljohnson15 tarps not lifted (test for 1/2 tarp up) and reasons for no grass pitch have not changed and likely will not change. sorry.
And lastly
@joel_weakland @maofootball more than 80% of tix prices (incl TA) will not change for next season.Hooray!
