Stefán Gíslason, a new Timbers trialist
Michael Orr, of Mao's Football Show, has confirmed that Icelandic international defensive midfielder, Stefán Gíslason is on trial with the Timbers this morning.
According to his wikipedia page, the Icelander spent most of his time with Brondby of the Danish Superliga.
He's currently out of contract which would mean he would be eligible to sign with the Timbers until September 15th when MLS rosters are locked.

Eh? He’s 6’5, though has been playing DM for his team most recently. Probably decent with his passing, but he’s 31. Hopefully he knows English.
Icelandic.
The language preserved since 1000ad and the founding of the Althing.
They better know English! And the few I have met spoke English more proficiently than a college English professor. [Meaning they were correct in pronunciation and grammar, our own spoken English in America is full of slang and unique accents, which could be viewed as sloppy]
Jag kom, jag såg, erövrade jag.
I should add that no more than 400,000 people in the world speak that language.
Knowing English is down right required in this globally connected world. If not English, another major language.
Jag kom, jag såg, erövrade jag.
