For those of you who are into stadium's (like me) the Montreal Impact have just put up their own virtual stadium for the 2012 Saputo Stadium.
I'm, personally, not terribly impressed. Not like I was with Houston's stadium anyway.

No offense
but it looks kinda like JWF, if the main structure curved around the south deck

It's to keep those unbelievably rowdy Canadians from invading the field

Actually
looking at this picture the net appears to just be a safety measure behind a few sections so the ball doesn’t bonk someone in the head or something.

Montreal does not riot when they lose the Stanley Cup,
it’s those pesky Canucks, that like burning things….
they had them behind the goals
during the Women’s World Cup as well as some of the stadiums in Copa America, so it is probably just for safety.

Looks good enough,
I hope they can get good sustaining support. We need all the franchises to be successful financialy for the league to thrive.
Another fun road trip for the Timber Army!
They will
They averaged more in the USL than the Timbers did… something like 13,000+.

Yeah, but that's a metric number so don't forget the conversion

[Cough] The city buys a lot of tickets [Cough]
Or so the rumor goes.
Jag kom, jag såg, erövrade jag.
Most of the stadium was built already
So this is just a “filling-in” of the corners, and an expansion of the roof. I’ve been to the current Stade Saputo for an Impact v. Rochester game, and it definitely gets loud. No JWF, but it’ll be a top 10 MLS stadium for sure.
As a lifelong Habs and Expos fan and resident Montreal expert, I’ll be happy to play tour guide next year.
Montreal stadium roof made of poutine
That’s gonna be the world’s largest free-standing structure made of poutine.

What’s not impressive about that?
Holy insane prices, Batman!
$10,000 for Club seats?!?!?! It’s a little unclear, it says it’s “a table with four seats”, but even so, that’s still $2500 per seat.
And having their ‘luxury’ seats at the BACK of each section? (Hover, you’ll see the very back set of seats in each section cost MORE than the ones further forward.)
Honestly
Trying to apply logic to the decisions of the Canadian MLS sides is a little hopeless. Best to say “things are different up thereaboots” and leave it at that. It may have something to do with the stadium’s sight lines, but I’m not sure.
That said, I’ll give credit where it’s due, their crest is pretty sweet.
Say what you want about America, thirteen bucks still gets you a hell of a lot of mice!
