Don't forget, the Timbers have Robbie Findley's rights if he decides to come back to Major League Soccer.

Come Back
Forest are at the bottom of the Championship League, and after getting crushed today in the FA Cup, and soon to be hammered by West Ham this weekend, he should come back and win a league title here in Portland. Seriously, that would be a nice addition for the Timbers.
I love how you used...
Hammered by West Ham! Come on you F***in’ Irons! I’ll be so happy once they get back in the Premier League…Really looking forward to Feb 4th, though…
Rights
Can anything explain, or point me to a place that does, how or why we have Robbie Findley’s rights? Is that just Robbie Findley, or the next US international to come to MLS?
Yes, here.
“Findley’s contract with Real Salt Lake expired at the end of the 2010 MLS season and he announced his intentions to leave MLS and move to Europe.5 On November 24, 2010 Findley was selected by Portland Timbers in the 2010 MLS Expansion Draft, in an attempt to get him to re-sign with MLS, or to retain his rights should he return from Europe.”
Ugh.
Don’t make me read MLS legalese!!! ;)
A quick browsing of the rules makes it seem like a team retains right of first refusal indefinitely. Mind you, we don’t want to wait 6 years for him to come back, but it seems once you have picked up the rights to someone who leaves the league, you keep them until you waive them.
So, perhaps you even end up making a trade for picks, allocation money or rights to another player if he decided to come back, but would only play in LA or NY, as an example. Either way, that is a nice card to be holding.
Could he be the #9 that GW kept going on about?

Oh, that would be nice...
…but I would bet we would be hearing something out of England if he was leaving – they so love their football rumors. Either way, if we can get a quality 9, I am excited for this team. We are starting to get a very satisfying depth you need with injuries and card suspensions during a long season. Plus, that very depth will allow some of our quality younger players to grow into their roles, and the team, in a more timely manner.
Yes...
but he is a much better finisher then Perlaza(this example not-withstanding lol). Overall though that is a decent comparison
Not by much
If at all. He had some pretty spectacular misses at RSL too.
Four seasons of mediocrity and one fifteen goal season.

That is to say...
Not bad, but not as amazing as everyone wanted him to be.

I've heard people say the same about KFC.
