BC Place Attendance this year for MLS
The USWNT played against Canada on Sunday night at BC Place for the final of the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying tournament and the announced crowd was a sold out 25,427. This is higher than the number than the Whitecaps played in front of (21,000). I hope this means that for MLS games they will expand the capacity to 25,427 as I think they would be able to fill that many seats.
What do the rest of you think?
Alright guys, I don't believe I have to say this but, just in case, please do not submit anything racist, homophobic, sexist or otherwise not appropriate for even the younger Timbers fans.

Single event games versus season long series is not comparable.
Kinda like saying DC United will get 80,000 because that many showed up to see Real Madrid play AC Milan.

Speaking as someone who made the trip to Vancouver this past October,
There was no way they had 21k in the stands for the match vs. Portland. Maybe 16-17, but not the 21k they reported.
Blazers win!
As someone who
Was up for both the Timbers v. Whitecaps as well as the whole recent CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifiers, I don’t see it happening. As The X-Man stated, there was definitely not the 21,000+ that was reported. There were large areas of empty seats throughout the stadium, and after the start of the game, and especially after Cooper’s goal, there seemed to be little excitement or interest in what was happening on the pitch.
As for the matches for the past couple of weeks, there was only real attendance was in the semis and finals. While there was definitely 25,000+ there last night, there was not much crowd reaction beyond the 10th-25th minutes when Canada was putting up a fight and in the previous match they were being clearly out cheered by the Mexican contingent of fans, even though there was many more Canadians than Mexicans and the group of Americans I was with that stayed for this match seemed to be more enthauiastic. I am not sure why this was, but the makeup of the crowd was different than the MLS crowds, as it seemed like a majority of families coming out for game to give their kids chance to see their country’s top players and serve as an inspiration rather than diehard or even casual Whitecaps fans.
I think that what we’ll more like see is the tarps staying on with exceptions of rivalry games, but you never really know with their front office.
