RSL is also trading Espindola and Olave to RBNY for "a large amount of allocation money," according to the report by Ives Galarcep.
Will Johnson spent a season in Blackburn's youth academy before returning to the US. He was claimed by the Fire as a discovery player. After 6 appearances in 2005, he earned a one year contract with Heerenveen of the Dutch Eredivisie. He also went on loan with newly promoted De Graafschap for 2007-08 season.
After that season, he returned to the MLS and the Fire, who immediately traded him to RSL, where he's made 111 appearances since mid-2008. He scored the MLS goal of the year in 2008 and made the all-star team in 2009. He's also appeared 31 times for the Canadian National Team, scoring 3 goals.
