Merritt Paulson tweeted an interesting piece of information for those of you not on Twitter concerning the Portland Rain and women's soccer in Portland. The Portland Rain were the only professional women's soccer team around and from the looks of their website ( portlandrainsc.com) were going to the way of the WPS and other women's teams.
Merritt Paulson's tweet was good news for the Portland Rain:
Looking at ensuring the Portland Rain sticks around. Not sure what LT plan is but want top female soccer players in PDX to have opportunity

We then asked and got the following response:

Looks like good news but still up in the air. I would love to see Portland have a quality team for the women and the men. U of P already has shown the interest is there for great soccer no matter what level/gender. Love seeing Merritt Paulson getting involved.
