Have you experienced regret just after signing a 2-yr contract, when the "details" start bubbling to the top? Two days ago we signed up for Dish Network's America's Top 120+(plus), which includes our favorite Root Sports NW. The sales team made it clear to me that Root Sports NW HD is included in this package. Great. We signed up.
I've noticed that lately games have been filmed differently as HD has become more widespread. The cameras zoom out more to show more field of play, while preserving enough detail. Here's the detail that bubbled up: Root Sports NW HD is a "Game Only" channel. "Game Only" means that the HD channel only broadcasts the "Games", and goes Off-Air when the other shows are on. Apparently the games include the Mariners, Huskies, Cougers, Beavers, etc, and of course the Timbers, right?
No. Not the Portland Timbers! These games play as scheduled on Root Sports NW SD, whilst the HD channel is Off-Air. Why is this? The only explanation I can flatulate is that the Timbers play "Matches", and not "Games". Also, why has nobody talked about this? I believe I would have caught wind of such a controversy, and I would not be stuck with a 2-yr agreement that forces me to choose between watching the "matches" in SD, where the players are undecernible during play, and going to a pub. Often with Comcast, I would watch at a pub, knowing that I've recorded the match in HD at home.
Unless I'm being way too picky, how can we best spread the news to Dish Network that this has to change? Our Portland Timbers need to be broadcast in HD!
