How far is too far to go at a game?

Stay connected for news and updates

I don't know if you've heard, but the Timbers lost last night. I know!

As most ugly losses do, this ugly loss brought out a lot of ugliness in a certain sector of the fan base at JWP last night; a capo went after Jewsbury after the game and Jewsbury apparently had to be restrained, and throughout the match there were boos, chants of CARE LIKE WE DO and YOU DESERVE THIS, and a whole lot of general ugliness that makes the "greatest fans in MLS" all sound like complete douchebags to the casual fan (which they're not, of course!).

So my question for you is, what is acceptable behavior when you attend a sporting event? Does it mean you have to be relentlessly positive, and urge "the boys" (who are actually full grown men for the most part, but whatever) on no matter what, or are you in the "I've paid my money and I'm having my say" school of thought? Was what you saw last night from the crowd acceptable, or over the line? Where is the line that you would draw that says "this has gone too far"?

Alright guys, I don't believe I have to say this but, just in case, please do not submit anything racist, homophobic, sexist or otherwise not appropriate for even the younger Timbers fans.
