While trolling the interwebs for information about the Portland Rain, and then realizing that the Portland Rain do not play in the same league as the Sounders and Whitecaps Women's teams. Which means that the Portland Rain will never play the Sounders or Whitecaps Women's Teams, i.e. no Women's Cascadia Cup. And I thought, well that sucks. But then an idea came into my head... wouldn't it be really great to have a Women's version of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup? That way we could have the possibility of seeing our teams play each other, and then we could have some cross-league rivalries. Now that the WPS is dead, it could help with some national attention on the Women's game outside of National Team. What do you think? Something worth promoting? Something worth telling the powers that be to get on it? Or just a pipe dream?
