The Rain currently sit 1 point out of 1st place in the WPSL's Northwest Division, are coming off a 2-1 victory over Eugene Metro Futbol Club on June 15 and are led in scoring by M/F Ellie Boon and F/M Whitney Pitalo, both with 2 goals each.. Emerald City FC currently sit in 5th place in the Northwest Division and are coming off a 0-0 draw to Spokane Shine on June 16 and are led in scoring by M Taylor Culver and M Ashely Waplinger, with 1 goal each.
This game marks the second home game of the season for the Rain, their first since a 2-1 victory over Oregon Rush. The Rain will then travel to Spokane to face the Spokane Shine on Saturday at 7:00PM, before returning to Portland to face Issaquah SC Portland's Lincoln High School on June 29 at 7:00PM.

In the nightcap, the Portland Timbers U23s (6-2-1, 19pts) take on Cascadian rival Seattle Sounders FC U23s (5-2-3, 18 pts) in their second meeting of the year. The first meeting on June 2, was won 1-0 in favor of Seattle on an 2nd half stoppage-goal by F Jamael Cox (June 2 Match Report). The Timbers U23s currently sit in 3rd place of the USL PDL Northwest Division, 3 points of table toppers Kitsap Pumas and Washington Crossfire, and are coming off a 4-1 victory over North Sound Seawolves on June 17 and are led in scoring by F Mark Sherrod with 13 points and is currently 12th in the PDL. Sounders FC U23s currently sit in 4th place of the Northwest Division and are coming off a 3-0 loss to Kitsap Pumas on June 15 and are led in scoring by M Fernando Monge and M Aodhan Quinn with 9 points each.
The Timbers U23s then return on the road for their next 3 matches June 25 at North Sound, June 29 at Frasier Valley, and June 30 at Victoria, before returning home on July 6 to face Washington Crossfire at Doc Harris Stadium in Camas, WA at 7:00PM.
These matches marks the first of a possible three doubleheader matches scheduled with the Porland Rain SC and Portland Timbers U23s, with the next doubleheader scheduled for July 8 at Hare Field in Hillsboro, with the Rain taking onSpokane Shine at 3:00PM and the Timbers U23s playing the Kitsap Pumas in a potential match to determine 1st place in the Northwest Division
