Timbers U-23s Mark Sherrod selected to 2012 PDL All-League Team

Forward Mark Sherrod, 21, became just the third player in Timbers U-23s history to score 10 or more goals in a single season and was the Western Conference’s leading scorer this season. He paced a Timbers U-23s attack that shared the Northwest Division lead in goals scored at 35 over 16 regular-season games. Additionally, he was twice named to the PDL Team of the Week (Weeks 2 and 3), including Player of the Week honors for Week 3. The Knoxville, Tenn., native becomes just the third player in Timbers U-23s team history to earn PDL All-League honors, joining former players and current Timbers first teamers Freddie Braun (2010) and Brent Richards (2009-11), who were both named to the PDL All-League Team in 2010.
