Considering our lack of wins and our up-and-down play, it would seem most likely that we would only be sending ONE player to the All-Star Game on July 25th. The problem is...who do we want sent as a representative, if any, of our team? Is there a single player that has gone above and beyond?
I'm hoping Diego Chara gets recognized for his play, personally. I think he has been great for us this year in a roll that doesn't accumulate sexy stats. He might just be the unheralded captain of the team. I would also love to see Troy Perkins get some love as he has often been our best performer on the pitch. The problem here is that there are probably a few GKs that have out played him in West. My third would be Hanyer Mosquera. I think he has anchored a back line of rotating cast of players, except for his suspension, of course!
I do not include the following in my list for a variety of reasons. KAH has been injured too often. And Boyd while good is not performing like Wondo, EJ, etc. (There is an argument to made here, it just isn't mine.) Brunner is hurt. Jack, Chewie, Palmer have all underperformed. Smith is still new, while Mwanga is yet a sapling.
