Looks like this whole City FC thing is getting a bit bigger after MLS registered the domain a couple months ago. Today it appears that MLS has trademarked both City FC and Empire FC in order to secure them in the long run. Those of you who don't know much about trademarks I'll just say this: in order for a word or phrase to be trademarked, the organization has to show active use or intent to use. Some are suggesting this is for New York 2, others have said it could be for a Chivas USA rebranding and moving to the Inland Empire. What do you think?
