The Portland Timbers U-17/18 squad fell in it’s first competitive match on Saturday 5-0 at Chivas USA (the U-15/16 team drew 2-2, but further information is not currently available).

The Chivas ‘Kids’ saw goals from Julio Chavez (11’), Michael Gonzalez (66’), Romario Lomell (53’) and a brace from Daniel Moreno (19’, 32’).

Portland continues a difficult opening weekend on today at the Home Depot Center University Fields, when the U-17/18s play the Los Angeles Galaxy at 10 a.m., followed by the U-15/16s at 12:30.

While no statistical information is currently available for the Timbers, the lineups are available…
