Je remercie Dieu pour Piquionne !!!
On a night which was pretty darn dismal, his goal is gonna be huge. Ironically, nicely served in by Jack as well...as the both of them were victimized by two of the RSL goals. Just dessert, even if we would have preferred another helping.
Hindsight is always 20-20, but starting around the 60th minute I wondered if Caleb Porter actually made one of his relatively rare rookie coaching mistakes with the lineup for this game.
I understand the goal was to come hard at 'em and go for the win, and you do that with the best starting 11 you've got.
But perhaps one should have factored in the absurd (some could argue dangerous) MLS scheduling for the first leg games of this round. Perhaps two matches in 70 hours was too much to ask of Valeri's abductor, and Jack's old legs.
But come to think of it, really...nobody played well at all.
So the Monsieur gave us a really important consolation prize. Getting to the Final via JeldWen is now very, very doable.
Does Piqui get the start in two weeks ? I think he is deserving of it.
