Lots of ways that Porter could go with this one. I understand the need not to go nuts going forward from the opening whistle but I also would really like to try to see us get on the front foot.
My starting XI:
Powell Futty Kah Hair
Nagbe Valeri KAH
Bench: RJ, Valencia, Zemanski, Wallace, Powell, AJB, Kocic
1. I am still not sure about RB as I think Jewsbury has earned the final start and he is good at sending in crosses which is Piq's bread and butter (see goal #2), however I just think Powell can get up and down better and Jewsbury was terrible defensively in game 1. At least I would like to see Powell on the bench over Zizzo and brought in if we do need to chase after half.
2. I am still not sure about LW as there are arguments for KAH, Valencia, RJ or Wallace all being in that role. I just think that the interplay between KAH/Valeri/Nagbe along with Piq's hold up and passing (which is way underrated) give us a solid shot. Part of me wants Valencia as he just gets after defenders and Borchers and Palmer specifically are not great at 1 v 1 with quicker guys (Borchers deserved a yellow when he had no way to stop Nagbe in game 1 and just had to stick a leg in to foul him at the edge of the box)
