Portland Timbers Release New Kits in Video Ahead of Unveiling Event

It appears that the kit photos leaked through several sources over the past few weeks were real, as Ryan Johnson and Diego Valeri model the primary and secondary kits to the sweet sounds of Karen O and Trent Reznor.

The wait for the new primary and secondary kits is over. The Portland Timbers released this video this morning as sort of a trailer for this evening's unveiling event at Last Thursday on Alberta.

I had been pretty down on the design as the leaks came out, but as many readers out there speculated, they do look a bit better when worn than when laid flat. In addition, I like some of the details that had been tough to make out before, including the sort of embossed Rose City logo around the red Timbers logo on the secondary kit (visible at 0:30 in the video).

Still, the V-neck thing was a questionable choice.

The full kits will be on display tonight at the Talisman Gallery (Ryan Johnson and Diego Valeri will be there modeling).

Kit unveiling details:

WHEN: Thursday, Feb. 28; the event begins at 6 p.m., with the jersey unveiling taking place at 6:30 p.m.

WHERE: Talisman Gallery, 1476 NE Alberta St., Portland, OR
