Back in January we were overjoyed to find out that, finally, after 2 years of proving that Portland was a great pace to host a US national team game, we would be getting one. Despite the popularity of the game here. Despite the selling out of the stadium time after time after time, US Soccer continued to overlook Portland, and indeed the Pacific Northwest overall, in favor of places like Tennessee. That is until July 9th...

If true, and I do believe Fox Soccer is right about it, it would mean that the USMNT has been placed in Group C. According to a very recently updated Wikipedia page the USMNT will be taking on Belize here on the Rose City. Additionally, just prior to that match will be Costa Rica vs. Cuba. Depending on whether he gets called up, it could be Wallace's time to shine in Portland for his national team. Either way, both games will sure to be a lot of fun.
