Timbers and Flounders in an arms race?

With the burgeoning expansion of the 2nd/3rd divisions this marks one of the most exciting times to be a American soccer fan.

Is it time for the Timbers to make a play to expand it's reach? We already have the U23s but with the new agreement with USL Pro the time could be ripe to start our own squad. Ideally being closer Portland would facilitate expanding the resources of our first team to develop future stars under the close supervision of the coaching staff. But should the Timbers look to expand the reach of the club? Could Eugene or Medford (strong soccer community) be markets to reach out to? Our rivals to north suggested reaching for Boise but why let them get there first? Will this spur an arms race in Cascadia to claim new markets?

Alright guys, I don't believe I have to say this but, just in case, please do not submit anything racist, homophobic, sexist or otherwise not appropriate for even the younger Timbers fans.
