Tough game for the Portland Timbers tomorrow evening, no doubt about it. Still, if there's one thing that this Timbers' squad had proven, it's their tenacity. Unlike in previous games where the Timbers would falter and fail in the last 15 minutes, the current team has shown that they play until the very end. I expect that same tenacity to be crucial in tomorrow game.
Here are the winners from last week's prediction thread against the San Jose Earthquakes:
- sky cunningham with a 1-1 draw. Darlington Nagbe in the first half, Chris Wondolowski in the second.
- Howry with a 1-1 draw. Mikael Silvestre in the 33rd minute, Wondo in the 88th.
- stax o' wax with a 1-1 draw. Wondo in the 40th minute, Nagbe in the 73rd.
- Ryan Gates with a 1-1 draw. Wondo in the 35th, Silvestre in the 72nd.
Congratulations to everybody who got closest. What's most interesting to me about last week's predictions was how many people though that some combination of Nagbe, Silvestre and Wondolowski were going to score. Silvestre, in particular, was an ambitious guess in hindsight.
