Should we spend our ex-Boyd DP slot on a centerback?

Seeing that we are starting to get rather thin at center back, I have a simple question:

If Merritt is willing to spend, is it worth it to spend our ex-Boyd DP slot on a high-quality centerback? If so, who would you get?

Personally, I am in the "Yes" camp. Look, I like Jean-Baptise but I don't think he could carry the load of the entire season. Not only that, Silvestre's age makes me nervous.

Also consider:

  • I like DTG and Kawulok but they both need loans to get experience.
  • Danso doesn't seem to be into Caleb's plans.
  • With Horst being injured and Mosquera out the door - we can get in trouble pretty fast.

Not only that, having a high-quality centerback to pair with Silvestre would absolutely shut down teams allow players like Chara and W. Johnson move father up.

As to who to get... this is where I am at a lost.

Let's throw some names out there. Who are some DP worthy centerbacks you would like to see come into PDX?

Alright guys, I don't believe I have to say this but, just in case, please do not submit anything racist, homophobic, sexist or otherwise not appropriate for even the younger Timbers fans.
