City of Portland to Recognize Thorns FC

Sinclair, Foxhoven will be on hand at Wednesday’s ceremony

Portland City Council to proclaim Wednesday a day of recognition for Thorns FC

WHAT: Portland City Commissioner Nick Fish will issue a proclamation, signed by Portland Mayor Charlie Hales, naming Wednesday, April 10, as a day of recognition for Portland Thorns FC at 9:30 a.m. in the City Council chambers.

In addition to Hales and the City Council, Thorns FC forwards Christine Sinclair and Danielle Foxhoven will be in attendance at the proclamation.

Portland Thorns FC begin their inaugural National Women's Soccer League season on Saturday, April 13, against FC Kansas City at Shawnee Mission District Stadium in Overland Park, Kan.; kickoff is set for 5:35 p.m. (Pacific).
