Eric Lichaj a Free Agent (!)

Guess who just got released by Tom Hanks' favorite EPL side.

http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/210632.html#

Lichaj, only 24 years old, starred in only 17 games last season for Villa. With the World Cup coming up, one can speculate that the fringe American international fullback will want first-team football in the months running up to Brazil, in order to snag a spot on the National team roster. Should Portland be the place to provide it?

Acknowledging Portland's history of problems at the position, could Lichaj be the long term answer at right-back?

What are his chances of playing in the MLS, and contrarily, what are the chances he pulls a 'Diskerud'?

*On a side note: An article on mlssoccer.com somehow made a comparison of the U.S. Open Cup and the participating teams to, what else, Game of Thrones. Does anyone have the free time to go through and translate each player on our roster to a character on the show? It's meaningless, but it would make one Timbers/GoT fan very, very happy.

Alright guys, I don't believe I have to say this but, just in case, please do not submit anything racist, homophobic, sexist or otherwise not appropriate for even the younger Timbers fans.
