Chivas USA - The Players

Does anyone have any idea what the plan is with Chivas USA after this season?

From what I can tell:

At the end of the season, Chivas USA will cease to exist as an organization.

The "team" will not take part in either of the 2015 or 2016 seasons.

Sometime prior to the 2017 season, the "team" (with its new name, logo, branding, ownership group, etc.) will rejoin MLS and be treated as an expansion club (filling the new roster through an expansion draft, as well as all the other typical routes to player acquisition).

But what I haven't heard is what will happen to the 30 or so players currently on the Chivas USA roster (whose contracts are owned by MLS). Will they be granted free-agency by the league? Will they be retained by the league and distributed to the remaining clubs? How would that process work?

Granted, Chivas is not flush with star talent, but given our current needs I'm curious how we might put our name in the hat for players like Dan Kennedy, Cubo Torres (I know he's currently on loan, but I thought I heard MLS bought him outright or plans to) or even bring AJB back for depth...

Have any of you heard anything (official or otherwise) about how this will be handled?
