The Eugene School District voted 6-1 on Wednesday to give the City a chance to preserve Civic Stadium. The catch is that the city now has 6 months to find a development partner that can commit $3 million to an operating and maintenance fund. The most likely partner is the Friends of Civic Stadium. If you'd like to help them meet their fundraising goal, they have an escrow account you can donate to. If they reach $3 million, your money will be used to secure the stadium for professional soccer. If they do not, your money will be returned to you.

The Eugene School District will determine on Wednesday February 19th to whom to sell Civic Stadium to. The three bids are: Fred Meyer, YMCA, and the City of Eugene. The first two want to demolish the historic stadium, while the City wants to find a development partner to refurbish the stadium for community use and Professional Soccer!
The Professional Soccer team would most likely be Lane United. If you want to see a local rival for our USL-Pro affiliate or for Eugene to be that USL-Pro affiliate, the fastest way for that to happen is for Civic Stadium to be preserved.
