For those of you who don't check the official Timbers website all that often (I know I sometimes don't), after the Seattle game, Nagbe became the first Timbers player in the MLS era to hit 100 appearances for the club. Jack and Chara are both getting close, with 93 and 92 appearances respectively. I found that surprising, and I wanted to discuss it with you all here.
I would have expected Chara to be the first player to hit 100, as I only remember him missing a game or two for suspensions and a very few to injury, while I seem to remember Nagbe having to sit out a few more games for injury, and only coming into the lineup in 2011 around the same time Chara did, and yet Nagbe's played eight more games. I find it an interesting example of how different our perspectives as fans can be from what the actual facts are, or how our memories can change based on what we assume to be the case, not to mention that it's a fantastic testament to Nagbe's tenacity and toughness.
Is any of this information surprising to you?
