As of right now, do you think the Timbers make the playoffs?
We have a wobbly defense that doesn't like winning.
We have an offense that doesn't like winning... or losing, fortunately. The offense, however, seems to be showing a little more spark recently after much impotence plus or minus Seattle.
We have a congested upcoming schedule.
Reinforcements for 'both sides of the field' including a DP striker are being looked for. Of course by July the DP striker could be a band-aid for a corpse and our track record for adding defensive help mid-season is a mixed bag.
My vote is an unconfident yes for now. Perhaps I bit too hard on all the preseason hype about our offense. But if our attack can continue to trend in the right direction (7 goals in the last 3), Johnson continues to show better than the early season, and the defense finds the form they played down the stretch last year--or something approximating it, I wouldn't be too surprised to run off a lot of points in a hurry against any competition.
