RCTIDnmw's Official World Cup Prediction Thread Groups E-H

If you missed it you can catch my predictions for A-D here:

Group E

Switzerland-Ecuador: 1-0

In a game not full of much action, it is Switzerland who takes advantage of a poor defensive lapse from the Ecuadorians.

Xherdan Shaqiri 32'

France-Honduras: 3-0

France dominate everything from the fan support to the scoreline. Honduras self-destructs and Victor Bernardez gets sent off early for a stupid two footed challenge on Antoine Greizmann.

Karim Benzema 14', Olivier Giroud 24', Antoine Greizmann 56'

Honduras-Ecuador: 0-2

Honduras' horrendous dirty style continues as two men in blue pick up red cards. Ecuador doesn't play well, but the man advantage certainly helps; the first goal comes off a corner, the other a flick-on after a long throw.

Felipe Caicedo 53', 76'

Switzerland-France: 0-0

Switzerland frustrates a solid French attack. Diego Benaglio comes up heroically in goal, and Olivier Giroud misses an empty net. Thus, we have our second goaless draw of the competition.

Switzerland- Honduras: 2-0

In a team decimated by suspensions, the Hondurans simply cannot compete, regardless of a poor Swiss attack. However, the men in red still put in two.

Haris Seferovic 64', Josip Drmic 73'

France-Ecuador: 2-2

In a back and forth affair, neither team gives an inch. The French dominate the first 30' until Ecuador pulls off a well executed counter attack. From then on, it is a shootout full of entertainment.

Karim Benzema 11', Antonio Valencia 31', Blaise Matuidi 51', Jefferson Montero 63'

What really matters:

The Swiss come in first with the French not far behind. Ecuador shows well, but just can't get the crucial second win, and Honduras doesn't win or score.

Switzerland: 7pts France: 5pts Ecuador: 4pts Honduras: 0pts

Group F

Argentina-Bosnia & Herzegovina: 4-2

Argentina shows their attacking flair, but looks extremely vulnerable in the back half. Nevertheless, the Argentines pick up a comfortable win at the Maracana.

Sergio Aguero 16', Angel Di Maria 22', Edin Dzeko 36', Sergio Aguero 39', Lionel Messi 65', Edin Dzeko 72'

Nigeria-Iran: 0-1

In a shocking result, Iran manages to beat African champs, Nigeria. A string of poor performances continues for the Super Eagles, and Iran starts to believe they can come out of the group.

Reza Ghoochannejhad 58'

Argentina-Iran: 3-0

Sergio Aguero continues his Golden Boot bid, but the scoreline deceives those who don't watch the game. Iran plays with heart, but simply can't keep up with the Argentines.

Sergio Aguero 8', Ezequiel Lavezzi 78', Gonzalo Higuain 84'

Nigeria-Bosnia & Herzegovina: 2-3

By the end of this game, Edin Dzeko finishes with five goals total. Nigeria rebounds well, but Bosnia clearly earns the result.

Victor Moses 21', Edin Dzeko 25', Edin Dzeko 40', Edin Dzeko 64', Emmanuel Emenike 83'

Nigeria- Argentina: 0-1

A late Ezequiel Garay header off of a corner is the only thing that seperates this two sides. After their previous s*it shows, Nigeria looks quite good.

Ezequiel Garay 82'

Iran-Bosnia & Herzegovina: 0-2

In a winner takes all game, Bosnia shows up to play and Iran doesn't. Dzeko stays hot and looks poised to grab the Golden Boot.

Ibisevic 52', Edin Dzeko 69'

What really matters:

Argentina gets through comfortably as everyone expects. Iran surprises us all, but Bosnia gets through on the back of Edin Dzeko. Nigeria gets subject to punishment by Goodluck Jonathan again.

Argentina: 9pts Bosnia & Herzegovina: 6pts Iran: 3pts Nigeria: 0pts

Group G

Germany-Portugal: 1-1

Lukas Podolski who starts in the place of Marco Reus opens the scoring, but Portugal equalizes shortly there after. Both teams look favorites to come out of the group.

Lukas Podolski 16', Nani 22'

Ghana-United States: 2-1

Deja vu or what. Ghana beats the U.S again by simply out talenting them. The speed and skill of the Ghanaians destroy an inexperienced backline.

Kwadwo Asamoah 21', Clint Dempsey 54', Kevin-Prince Boateng 63'

Germany-Ghana: 1-0

In almost a repeat of 2010, Germany outclasses Ghana but the scoreline only shows a one goal difference. Mesut Ozil and Bastian Schweinsteiger run the show for Die Mannschaft.

Mario Gotze 57'

Portugal- United States: 1-1

The U.S plays considerably better than the previous game, but still can't get the win. Portugal ends up ruing missed chances.

Jozy Altidore 33', Cristiano Ronaldo 60'

United States-Germany: 0-3

Miroslav Klose sets the goal scoring record in a demolition of the yankees. It's a rough day for Klinsmann and half of the Americans, as they watch their home country romp all over them

Mesut Ozil 15', Jerome Boateng 42', Miroslav Klose 74'

Portugal-Ghana: 1-1

Another winner takes all game, this time Ghana gets through after parking the bus in the second half. Ronaldo spits at the camera again as Portugal are dumped out of the World Cup after three straight 1-1 draws.

Christian Atsu 26', Cristiano Ronaldo 44'

What really matters:

Germany takes care of business, and Ghana comes in second. Portugal can't get out of their own way, and Jurgen Klinsmann seriously reconsiders leaving Landon Donovan at home.

Germany: 7pts Ghana: 5pts Portugal: 3pts United States: 1pt

Group H

Belgium-Algeria: 2-1

Belgium takes the pressure off themselves early with two quick goals. However, a spirited Algeria team manages to get one goal back, their first in the World Cup in a few decades.

Kevin De Bruyne 4', Romelu Lukaku 9', Sofianne Feghouli 71'

Russia-South Korea: 0-0

Nothing much to say here other than a shockingly bad 0-0 draw.

Belgium- Russia: 0-0

Belgium can't crack a stingy Russian team who park an old Soviet bus in front of Igor Akinfeev's net.

South Korea- Algeria: 2-0

South Korea proves the haters wrong by handily beating a weak Algeria side. Thanks to Belgium's draw, South Korea believes they can snag the top spot in the group.

Heung-Min Son 26', 56'

Belgium-South Korea: 4-0

Unfortunately for the Koreans, Belgium comes to play. The youth and speed overwhelms an ordinary South Korean defense.

Eden Hazard 31', Kevin Mirallas 54', Eden Hazard 67', Adnan Januzaj 87'

Russia- Algeria: 1-0

The Russians even park a bus against a poor Algerian side. Nevertheless, they snag a goal and the second place in the group.

Yuri Zhirkov 42'

What really matters:

Belgium overcomes the pressure and Russia parks the bus to success. South Korea blows their chance, and Algeria shows up for the Brazilian scenery.

Belgium: 7pts Russia: 5pts South Korea: 4pts Algeria: 0pts

Stay tuned for my predictions for the knockout round next!

Alright guys, I don't believe I have to say this but, just in case, please do not submit anything racist, homophobic, sexist or otherwise not appropriate for even the younger Timbers fans.
