Musings on the 2015 MLS All-star Game

Last year I got an email from the Timbers on July 10th that they would be hosting the 2014 MLS All-Star game. This was twenty days prior to the 2013 All-Star game in Kansas City.

As this year's All-Star match came and went, I was surprised not to here where Diego Valeri will be facing European competition next year. I thought for sure they'd announce it at half-time since Don Garber loves to get out on the pitch at Providence Park, but it didn't happen.

In searching around the webs, I found this great article on BigD soccer.

Searching for the home of the 2015 MLS All-Star Game

They think the front runners are San Jose (New Stadium), Dallas (Never hosted), or LA.

They throw Vancouver and Montreal in the mix as less likely, but I think they have a good chance. The Canadian Federation may want to leverage enthusiasm from the Women's World Cup. BC Place is a beautiful venue, but I doubt they'd go with Cascadia two years in a row. Additionally, hosting a French team in Montreal would be an interesting proposition.

Anyway, enough of my musings. Feel free to discuss.
