@franckck: It looks like I came to PDX for no reason. I wanted to put my cleats on, but it wasn't up to me. Some people forget easily. #AncoraImparo
TwitterPreseason starts mañana! Look forward to seeing everyone. And welcome Ryan Miller to PDX.
"its not fun being traded, i thought i worked hard enough and left enough for the club for hopefully wanting them to want to want me... a lot of factors were the reasons for the trade which is part of the business and you understand that in the job. And like you said it gives me a new chance to see a different part of the world the only drag on it, is moving is not very fun." "I was bummed too, but they didn't see me in their plans apparently and you just have to about it business like." - Eric Brunner
twitch.tv/broomsweeper chat while Eric Brunner played video games...Gavin Wilkinson is a really innovative General Manager in Portland, he is very smart and it doesn't shock me at all he is the innovator here and be the first guy to acquire someones Home Grown Player rights. I tip my hat to Gavin, I think he is a real bright guy, who's an innovator, not surprised he was the first one to pull off a deal like this.
Garth Lagerway praises Gavin Wilkinson on Extra Time Radio (http://www.mlssoccer.com/extratime at the 33:22 mark)I think we’ve pretty much decided on the name, and we’re working with one of the Timbers Army members who is a quality designer on a team mark and logo.

From J.R. Eskilson's twitter account (from Top Drawer Soccer) https://twitter.com/JREskilson/status/253531086062239744"One of my most vivid memories is my first year in 2002 going down and playing at PGE Park. At that time we were playing at Memorial Stadium so we got maybe 3000 fans and to get to be in front of I think they got 12,000 fans that game was just a surreal moment and one of the highlights of my career just seeing that many people watching soccer. That was my first really big soccer experience."

@MerritPaulson on twitter. New Era is a subsidiary of Comcast and currently serves the Portland Trail Blazers among others.I'm told that no matter who Timbers hire as coach, decision was made earlier this summer to widen JWF to 74 yards -- that's to better fit the posession style direction they want to go with team. "intimate will get more intimate"
Taken from John Strong's Twitter account concerning the widening of JW Field. IT would be 2 yards on either side. Not too much but just enough to make it feel bigger.Smith was big all night along the defensive left side in Portland’s Cascadia Cup win over Vancouver. He was never bigger than in a second half, athletic goal line clearance. It was probably a game-saver.
Steven Smith was selected for this week's NBC Sports' Team of the Week.
