Hello there Timbers fans, or other general MLS/soccer fan. As you can probably tell, this is SB Nation's newest sports blog focused on the brand new MLS side: the Portland Timbers. It's been a long time coming, but as the Timbers ascend from the D2 in the US to the top flight league, we are embarking on a new era in our history, probably the biggest one yet. Think of this blog as a categorical timeline following all of the events, big and small, with an added dose of wily opinion and humor, of course.
You may or may not know who I am. For those that don't, I've been running my own personal Timbers blog over at a site called Chopping Timber for a little while now. Nothing spectacular, but it was a nice avenue to express my opinions on what the Timbers were up to as they headed into MLS. When I was called up by SB Nation to host their Timbers blog I was not only excited, but very honored. I honestly didn't believe my humble origins would lead to anything like this.
So please, sit back and relax. Take a load off your day and enjoy your newest home for opinionated Portland Timbers news. We are a community of fans here, Timbers Army or not. Feel free to use the wealth of community tools that SB Nation has gathered for us such as the FanShots and FanPosts because, well, without you this site wouldn't exist at all.
