Timbers Coaching Staff is Shaping Up

Last night the Timbers announced a new acquisition. Not a player acquisition, mind you, but a notable one nonetheless as the team picked up Trevor James from the Los Angeles Galaxy as one of our upcoming assistant coaches for the team. Exciting!

Seriously, these guys have a much larger impact on the team than most people probably realize and the fact that we are grabbing a coach from the Supporter's Shield winning LA Galaxy could only mean good things to come. Build from winners, I always say.

In addition to Trevor, head coach Spencer has named Amos Magee as another assistant coach and Adam Smith as our goalkeeping coach. Fans of the USL-side Timbers will recognize Amos as he's been an assistant coach with the team for the past two seasons. Adam Smith, however, is a less known quantity. While he was with the USSF D2 side Timbers for last year, prior to that he's bounced around quite a bit, playing for in England, Scotland, Malaysia, Singapore and our home field, the USA.

As the team gears up for 2011, it's exciting to see all the small puzzle pieces fit together.
