Training Begins Today

Well this is one of the big moments of 2011 we've been waiting for. As of today, officially, our first MLS team will begin training together. It might not seem like a momentous occasion, but it is a significant move for the team. From now until season's start each player will be combed over again and again to determine if they're first team, sub, or reserve status.

Of course, some players are shoe-ins for first team status like Kenny Cooper. Somehow I doubt the Timbers FO would go through all the hassle of bringing Cooper in just to have him sit on the bench.

Anyway, all of our current players are now training in Portland with the exception of Kenny Cooper and Kerrea Gilbert. Cooper is still in Munich getting his issues worked out and is expected in early February. Gilbert is expected to arrive sometime this week.
