Terrible news out of the Timbers FO this evening as our newly acquired #2 SuperDraft pick, Darlington Nagbe, has acquired a sports hernia injury which will leave him saddled on the sidelines for a projected 2-4 weeks after his surgery this Friday.
As many would expect this comes at an inopportune time in our teams' development. Up until this point Nagbe was playing very well in pre-season friendlies and was pretty much a lock for a first team starting position. His absence for our first few games could jeopardize that role depending on how others perform at the start of the season.
Darlington Nagbe will be flying down to southern California this Friday for his operation. We'll keep you updated as more information gets released.
