Portland Timbers to host Eredivisie Side Ajax May 25th

This is unbelievably cool. While many casual/European soccer fans here are fully aware of the big clubs around Europe like Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid, there is a single Dutch team that continually finds, nurtures, and sells the greatest players in the world, that team is Ajax. Their most recent sell was Uruguayan star Luis Suarez who played phenomenally this past World Cup and was recently sold to EPL side Liverpool.

If you are a season ticket holder then you already have tickets to this game, no need to worry about buying them (unless you want extras). For those who want/need to purchase tickets that information will be unveiled at a later date.

Here's some info on the Dutch club:

Based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Ajax is one of the most storied clubs in European soccer. It is one of only five clubs to repeat as European champions, winning the European Champions Cup three consecutive years from 1971-73. Ajax, founded in 1900, won three major European titles in 1972, taking home the national championship, Dutch Cup and European Champions Cup. The club won its last European Champions Cup, now known as Champions League, in 1995. Ajax has won the Eredivisie (first division) title 29 times.

May 25th! Mark it in your calendars!
