Portland Timbers to Play Oregon State University April 9th

Some news that actually came out yesterday. Regardless, it seems like one of our state's more popular universities will be hosting the Portland Timbers in a mid-season friendly on April 9th at 6:00 PM where they'll face off against the OSU men's soccer team. For those of you who attend OSU or live in Corvallis this game will be $10 and will be capped at 1,100 attendees.

This game should serve as a nice stop gap in between our New England Revolution and Chicago Fire games where we have an almost two week gap between actual play time. While I don't expect our first team to make the trip, this game could be vital in getting injured players like Darlington Nagbe and Troy Perkins some added minutes and other players like Kalif Alhassan and David Horst some additional field time as each are important subs.

Tickets go on sale the day of the event at 5:00 PM (an hour before kick off) ... for whatever reason.

Thanks to twitter user @alancassinelli for the tip.
