Portland Timbers Reach 12,000 Season Tickets Sold, Release 500 More

New, 2 comments

Good news for those of you looking forward to a year of sell-out Timbers games as the team has announced today that we are now at over 12,000 season tickets sold for the 2011 season. To celebrate the occasion the Portland Timbers have released 500 more season tickets to the public. Once those are gone a waiting list will be created.

In addition to the great news regarding full season tickets, the Portland Timbers have announced that half-season tickets are selling out fast. While we don't know just how many this number is exactly, I'd imagine many people would actually have opted for the half-season as opposed to full season anyway due to its cheaper price and smaller commitment to a team in it's first year in MLS.

Either way, this is fantastic news for the team as we head into the 2011 season. Sold out games do wonders for an improved atmosphere and with this many season ticket holders we're bound to become a landmark team for the league this season. Exciting stuff.
