Confirmed: Ryan Pore Being Loaned to Montreal Impact

Update: This has been confirmed by the club. Ryan Pore will remain with Montreal for the remainder of the 2011 season.

There was another payer conspicuously missing from last night's friendly... that player being Ryan Pore, one of the Timbers stalwarts who joined us from the USL team last year. I had originally speculated that he was going to be wrapped up in the trade to the Houston Dynamo, but that has since turned out to not be true.

Now, I'm hearing that he may well be on his way to the Montreal Impact on loan for their final year in the USL. Obviously, this is just a rumor as of now, but I've been tipped off by somebody who is supposedly fairly close to the Timbers organization.

Also, it would make sense after one Twitter user @grogancp tweeted that he saw Ryan Pore and his family at PDX this morning. Here was his exact tweet:

Was behind @RyanPore and family on the airport escalator. #RCTID

I have no idea what the deal is, if there is even one at all, but my guess is that the Timbers are just trying to free up a bit more cap space for the remainder of the season.

This does make a bit of sense for Montreal though. Currently the Canadian side is struggling in their final year in the USL. Ryan Pore, on the other hand, was a known commodity amongst the league. He played very well for the Timbers in the past two years and even earned a league MVP award. Perhaps Montreal sees him as a nice stepping stone to boost their final season.

We'll see how this all plays out soon. If Ryan Pore really is on his way to Montreal today, we should be given confirmation soon.

As always treat this as a rumor and nothing else until further confirmation is released.
