The Portland Timbers announced another signing today, to the coaching ranks, in Cameron Knowles. Cameron as many of you know played for the Timbers during their USL era from 2007 until 2010. During that time he played in 77 games and was an integral part of the defense.
John Spencer says:
"I'm really pleased we can add Cameron to our staff. Having played here before, he knows the culture and the passion of this city and also the high demands placed on us from our great support."
Cameron is also excited to join the coaching ranks:
"I'm very excited about the transition into coaching. It is an honor to be a part of the Timbers once again and to be presented with this opportunity within the organization. It was an amazing experience to play for the Timbers and, as a coach, I look forward to being a part of the club's growth and success in MLS."
No word if he will be focusing on the defensive side of things but one thing he will be doing is playing in the scrimmages or small sided games instead of Amos of Spencer when the team needs another body.
