Portland Timbers Need to Win Tomorrow; How Confident Are You? [Poll]

With one final game left in the Cascadia Cup tournament, the Portland Timbers need a win in order to win the Cascadia Cup trophy.

Jonathan Ferrey

The Portland Timbers currently have a 100% win rating at BC Place. Pretty impressive right. Never mind the fact that it was for just a single game. Sometimes you just have to take whatever the positives that you can muster and use them to secure the tiniest shred of hope.

The unfortunate truth heading into tomorrow's final Cascadia Cup match is that the Portland Timbers simply aren't a great team this year as well as the fact that they can't seem to win on the road at all. Both of which don't exactly inspire confidence in a team that absolutely needs to win in order to take home the trophy. Here's are the current standings (from PortlandTimbers.com):

Team Points Played W L D GF GA GD
Sounders 9 6 2 1 3 9 5 4
Timbers 8 5 2 1 2 6 7 -1
Whitecaps 3 5 0 2 3 4 7 -3

As you can see, a draw simply wouldn't bring the trophy to the Timbers. They need to win. Otherwise the Seattle Sounders will keep the trophy on the tiebreaker: head-to-head goal differential. There's simply no other way around it.

Which leads me to my question:

How confident are you that the Timbers will finally be able to win away from home and, given the number of chances they've had so far, be able to secure the Cascadia Cup trophy?
