Notebook: UA, the consensus No. 1-ranked team in the country and fifth seed in the tournament, defeated Michigan 2-1 in the second round last week. Senior Scott Caldwell leads the Zips in scoring with nine goals and 10 assists, and junior Reinaldo Brenes is the top goal scorer with 10. He is doubtful to play today due to an injury. Senior goalkeeper David Meves has 16 shutouts. Juniors Eric Stevenson and Aodhan Quinn and freshman Dillon Serna are also key scorers. Freshman Alfred Koroma is out due to illness. . . . Creighton is the 12th seed and is coming off a 4-2 victory over Washington last week. Freshman Timo Pitter leads the Bluejays with nine goals and four assists. Senior Jose Gomez has six goals and eight assists, and sophomore Jose Ribas has two goals and eight assists. Freshman goalkeeper Jeff Gal has six shutouts. Juniors Bruno Castro and Zach Barnes are also key players with senior Andrew Ribeiro, sophomore Eric Miller and freshman Jake Brown. . . . The Zips enter this match on a 15-game winning streak and are four wins from winning a second national championship. . . . Since Porter took over the program in 2006, UA is 123-18-16 overall, 74-3-8 at home, 113-3-4 when scoring first and 91-1-3 when it scores two or more goals in a match.
