Source: Will Johnson Coming to Portland, Kosuke Kimura Traded to New York Red Bulls

Sources have confirmed to us that these two trades are happening.

The Portland Timbers will be on the receiving end of one large trade from Real Salt Lake in the form of Will Johnson the 25 year old Canadian International, a source with knowledge of the situation has told Stumptown Footy. Our source states that Johnson chose Portland out of a number of other MLS teams including the Vancouver Whitecaps, which would have probably made more sense to him. Needless to say, however, it's an exciting pick up for Portland.

The other big drop that our source tells us is that Kosuke Kimura will be heading to the New York Red Bulls in exchange for allocation money. There is perhaps more wrapped up in this deal, however, so don't think it's completely done yet. Remember, if New York resigns Kenny Cooper, they'll owe additional money to the Portland Timbers.

Finally, the Oregonian's Geoffrey C. Arnold is reporting that Michael Harrington from Sporting Kansas City will be making his way to Portland, though we can't confirm this source as our own.

There are a lot more moves to come in the upcoming off season so don't expect this to be all, however, our source has told us that Will Johnson was acquired for the express purpose of playing a major role in the 2013 campaign.

What do you guys think of these first few moves?
