U23s Run Riot Over Rivals Kitsap

5/24 - The Timbers U23s handily beat their Northwest Division rivals, the Kitsap Pumas, by an impressive score of 4-0 last Thursday. Scoring for the Timbers were midfielders Andrew Ribiero, Cam Vickers, and Steven Evans, who scored a brace. Vickers, the team's oldest player, also provided the assist on both of Evans' goals.

Timbers U23s Win in Vancouver to Continue Perfect Run

5/26 - While the Timbers first team could only manage a draw against the Whitecaps on Saturday, the U23s, who traveled to Vancouver for the fixture, won 2-1 and improved their record to four straight wins on the season. Chris Harms, the U23s' rangy central defender, headed home a Cam Vickers free kick to open the scoring. The winning goal came courtesy of Clark Phillips who slotted the ball home late in the game. The hero of the match for Portland, however, was keeper Spencer Richey, who had four saves on the night.

Mark Sherrod Wins 'Player of the Week'

5/24 - In the PDL's third week of play, Mark Sherrod took home the Player of the Week honors after his hat trick performance against Victoria Highlanders FC. Andrew Ribiero and Matt Tonkel were also honorable mentions on the PDL Team of the Week.

Miller Named to Team of the Week

5/31 - Eric Miller, who has lined up as both a defender and a midfielder for the U23s this season, was selected for the PDL Team of the Week as a defender for week 4 of the PDL season. Timbers U23s players Clark Phillips, Steven Evans, and Cam Vickers were all given honorable mentions for the Team of the Week as well.

Miller Called Up to USA U-20s

5/31 - On the same day that he was named to the PDL Team of the Week, Timbers U23s midfielder Eric Miller has been called up by the USA U-20s for their upcoming national team camp and a series of friendlies against Uruguay and Chile. Miller will miss four U23s matches while with the National team.

Nick Hamer, Will Seymore Added to U23s Roster

5/25 - The U23s brought in some midfield reinforcements this week in Nick Hamer and Will Seymore. Hamer, 20, from Spokane, Washington, plays collegiately for Gonzaga, and was named to the West Coast Conference All-Freshman Team two years ago. Seymore, 20, is from Sohem, England but plays for Oregon State University, where he lead the team in assists as a freshman.
